Myths about coffee

Since coffee appeared in Europe, a great number of myths appeared at once. Many journalists wrote that coffee is awful drink cooked from carbon-black. Wine-makers asked newspapers to publish such articles. Doctors of that time were sure that the Eastern drink caused not only paralysis but also thinness and impotence.

The French doctor said that coffee beans were destroying almost all organs of the human body warning patients of coffee drinking. He thought that this drink was the barrier between the human body and the God's energy. And of course he also thought it was the reason of impotence and paralysis.

Later coffee was considered to be the deadly sin and called non Christianity drink. The coffee houses that appeared in the streets of developed cities were considered to be the houses of plotters and conspirators.

Different times brought different opinions and myths about coffee. And the discussion on the impact of coffee on the human body is not finished till nowadays. People also like to discuss what substance is more harmful tea or coffee.

This problem was sold by Sweden king who ordered two brothers-twins to drink coffee and tea. One of them drank only coffee and another one – only tea. And in such way the king wanted to know what is worse. Two professors were watching them. But life is so unpredictable. Two professors died, the king was killed and two brothers were still alive and were continuing tea and coffee drinking. The brother who drank tea was the first who died.
